Come join me, a hotty named Amanda, spitphyre, and goredtorso for a philisophical New Years party! spitphyre has graciously offered her house for the experience!

Tired of boozing parties without any real meaning? Would you prefer philosophy, reflecting, and genuinely good conversation? Then come party with us!

I'm *still* without power. Apparently the Phantom Lake neighborhood may remain that way until the end of the week. I hope this proves to be untrue, as tommorow is my birthday, and a birthday without power is lame indeed.

I've made it a point to be at home at night to keep the kitties warm, though I've got a place lined up for tommorow in case the power remains missing from my world. I'll need it too, I have some *serious* laundry to do.

an alternative to the usual new year's festivities

New Year's Day is actually my favorite holiday. I like having an excuse to drink, see friends, and perhaps get deep into the philosophy of lessons learned from the year gone by. With that said, the usual drink and party style events aren't really my thing, given what I really crave a deep discussion.

Since most of the gatherings available to me are if the party variety, I'm thinking about holding a "Philosophical New Year's Party" at my place. It's a little late into the month, so I'd like to find out if that's a realistic option, as I'm unsure of how many people are craving an equally philosophical evening.

EDIT:
My house isn't an option. The roomie has to work the next day. Poo.

Well, if this sounds like fun to anyone with space available for a party, let me know and maybe we can still plan this out.

What are we, as people,
if we are without doubt?
You who are a cloud,
vibrant in sound,
how would you answer,
to the inquiry,
before you?

At best I am filled,
with Proximate Desire.
My cloven robes, are oddly,
antithetical,
as they embrace a warmth,
that only faith,
can empower.

And I am well guarded,
against your optative,
and eager voices.
And yet-
I sometimes find myself,
struggling to maintain,
my distance.

For somewhere long lost,
in an arid form,
of timeless vacuity,

Anime Festival News: NO DUAL SCREEN!

Bad news, folks. eye_of_fenris's lovely HDTV has blown its lamp, and a technician won't get here to fix it until next week. As a result, we will not be playing Blood+ at the festival. Sorry folks. :(

However, we still have a damn fine lineup on the primary screen, so hope is by no means lost.

Please shed a tear for Brent's TV. Today is a sad, sad day.

quick weekend highlights

New in the land of bunnies:

- Lots of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. So good, so good!

- I finally tried World of Warcraft. It was pretty underwhelming. It definately has a lot of perks (and it's pretty) but the combat is... well.. kind of boring. I tried two different classes, and just couldn't stay interested. Oh well. :) I'll give it a couple more tries this week, but I'm pretty sure that MMO's are simply not for me. I don't know if it's the gameplay style, the nature of the quests, or the art style, but I just can't see myself paying money to play this when Disgaea 2 is sitting right next to my PS2. Oh turn-based RPG's, how you taunt me so!

- Basic storylines and combat tweaks are in the works for the next Runesong game. I'll likely get them started in late January. I intend to run a friday night game, and a sunday evening game. I need my fix, yo!

- I'm finding it difficult to balance my feelings when dating multiple people. I've examined several different perspectives on the subject, but it's sometimes awkward trying to plan time, or even stay in contact. It's an interesting experience, to be sure. My mind and my heart want to go in different directions, and yet, neither direction sits right with me.

- I have a suprise show to play at the next Anime Festival. It's one you've likely never heard of (it's new), but I suspect it will be a huge hit. It's the first series of fansubs I've found encoded in proper 1080p (1920x1080). As you can imagine, it's beeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful.
- Din sum + good friends = good times!

- Life is VERY good. VERY strange, but nevertheless, VERY good.

- I am fond of capitalizing the word VERY.

- Hee hee.

I've been pretty absent from LJ, Myspace, IM, email, and even my cell in the last couple weeks. For those who have been trying to get ahold of me, you have my apologies. I've hit a pinnacle in life of sorts, and inbetween he constant socialization, I kind of burned out.

So I took time for me, to enjoy the treasures my efforts have earned me.

With that said, I recently made a Merc trip to celebrate my re-entry into the social world. Many of you can expect contact through the various methods mentioned above.

There are some people I am overdue for seeing, among them:

kittysgeekery (pictures!)

I have been a bit social, tho. I've seen some familiar faces from long ago, such as Miss Savvy from the Rat City days, and the enigmatic bellydancing goddess thedryadqueen.

I'm considering getting a little Runesong action on as a holdover until the new system is finished. I will likely explore this possbility with a pair of campaigns in January.

In other news, I recieved a lovely care package from the legendary wmchichiri, with art from the ever spectacular Seimei. (does she have an LJ?) THANK YOU, NO DA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, the first Dual Screen Anime Festival is nearly here!

The first ever Two Screen Anime Festival is almost here! The lineup is finalized!

Here are the details:

When:
Saturday, October 14th
The party starts at 1pm

Where:
16631 SE 14th ST
Bellevue, WA 98008

Can I bring friends?
Absolutely! You can even bring your cat... again!

Should I bring food?
Indeed you should! Beverages would be nice, too.

Will you be making chocolate?
Oh hell yes I am! Explore new tasty treats like Curry Chocolate, Chocolate Dipped Hazelnuts, & Hazel Oblivion.

What's this about a second screen?
The house I've moved into has a living room and a den. Each are equipped with a giant TV capable of playing anime fansubs. The den will be used to a marathon single show, while the living room will be used to play the latest shows.
For the next TWO festivals the den will be playing Blood+. We'll do 1-26 at this festival, and 27-50 at the next one.

Be forewarned! I will be focusing on DJing anime for Room 1. Thus, Blood+ will play uninterruped through all 26 episodes. Smokers beware! We will not be taking breaks, unless someone else offers to DJ for the room, and the majroity agree to break.

Blood+ will be played on my classic Gabe-flavored hax0red Xbox.

Sorry to anyone who's calls and IM's I missed during the day. I was out and about with eye_of_fenris obtaining the last toys needed to finalize our crazy-cool geek paradise.

We have:
- 2 HDTV's
- 2 Powerhouse gaming PC's, one hooked to a 21 inch monitor, the other to a 60 inch TV, both in high resolution.
- 1 HaX0red Sony PSP
- 1 HaX0red Nintendo DS
- 1 HaX0red Xbox360 - online with xbox live
- 1 HaX0red Xbox, which can play div/x
- 2 PS2's
- LOTS of videogames. Lots, and lots, and lots of videogames. ^_^
- Lots of wireless controllers, mice, keyboards, and other interface devices.
- 2 seperate internet pipes. I can leech anime to my heart's content.
- 2 seperate networks, which talk to each other, making one ~huge~ network.
- Wireless Connectivity (finally!)
- 2 Impressive Sound Systems, both full 5.1
- A massive archive of anime.
- A growing archive of high definition anime.
- And likely more items that I missed...

It's taken a lot of time, work, learning, and patience to get this all to play well together, but the end result has proven to be WELL worth it.

It's a geek's paradise.
